MY DADDY O. AKA and see "Caledonian Lass (The)," "Ketty's Scots Measure," "Madam McKeeny's Scotch-Measure," "Major Montgomerie's Quick Step," "O'er the Muir to Ketty." Scottish, Reel or Scotch Measure (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody is quite a bit older than O'Farrell's early 19th century printing, although not the title. The music appears in London publisher Henry Playford's Curious Scots Tunes (1700) as "Madam McKeeny's Scotch-Measure." See note for Playford's "Madam McKeeny's Scotch-Measure" for more on this tune family.
