MY LADY CAREY'S DOMPE. English, Dance Air (cut time). G Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB & variations. A 'dumpe' was a sort of slow dance in vogue in the England of Henry VIII, the early 16th century, but nothing much is known about it. This air is from a MS in the British Museum, c. 1520.
