MY LADY FOSTER'S DELIGHT. AKA - "Lady Foster's Delight." English, Country Dance Tune (2/2 time). F Major/D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody dates to 1702 when it first appeared in print with directions for a country dance in London publisher Henry Playford's Dancing Master [1], supplement to the 11th edition (p. 9). The piece was retained in subsequent editions of the long-running Dancing Master series through the 18th and final edition of 1728 (then printed by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns).
