NEW BRIDGE OF RUTHERGLEN. Scottish. An anonymous tune commemorating the opening of a bridge in Rutherglen in 1776. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of this tune in Joshua Campbell's A Collection of Newest and Best Reels and Minuets (1778, p. 71).
