NEW KISS ME LADY. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. Gibbons originally set the tune in the key of 'C' in his mss., along with an appendage to the title that reads "Rasen Band," perhaps a reference to a village band in the small Lincolnshire town of Market Rasen (which Charles Dickens called "the sleepiest town in England").
Source for notated version: the 1823-26 music mss of papermaker and musician Joshua Gibbons (1778-1871, of Tealby, near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire Wolds) [Sumner].
