NEW TYNE BRIDGE, THE. Scottish, Jig. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears in Abraham Mackintosh's (b. 1769) third collection, published sometime after 1797. It is attributed to "T.W." in the volume. Mackintosh was a Scottish teacher of music and dancing who moved his practice to Newcastle-on-Tyne later in life.
