NIEL GOW'S REEL [3]. AKA and see "Johnny Hand's Delight." Irish, Reel (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. "Niel Gow's Reel [3]" (no apparent relation to other Scottish reels of that name) was entered into the c. 1909 music manuscript collection in the possession of biography:Rev. Luke Donnellan, curate and fiddler from South Armagh. Researcher Conor Ward finds cognate tunes in fiddler Francis Reynold's (Ballinamuck, Co. Longford) 1883 music manuscript collection (Book 1, No. 6) as "Johnny Hand's Delight", and as an untitled reel from the same time period in Stephen Grier's (Gortletteragh, south Co. Leitrim), all in different keys. Grier's version is the last two parts of the reel printed by Donnellan and Reynolds.
