NO. 2 GRAND MARCH by LOGIER. English, March (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The march was composed by Johann Bernhard Logier (1777-1846), born in Kassel, at the time part of the Electorate of Hesse (Germany). At the age of 14 he moved to England and soon began playing in military bands, although moved to Dublin around 1805 where he spent the rest of his life. "No. 2 Grand March" was entered in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter[1] (1774-1861), a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England.
