"North Highland Reel [2]" was included in Islay fiddler-composer Alexander Mackay's (born 1773) A Collection of Reels, Strathspeys and Slow Tune (Glasgow, c. 1822). Compare the tune with "Captain Maitland's/Honorable Captain Maitland's", particularly the first strains. The tunes are distanced but may be cognate.
