NORTH OF THE TAY. Scottish, Reel. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The melody was composed by biography:James Stewart-Robertson, editor of The Athole Collection (1884). The River Tay runs through Perth from Loch Tay in the Highlands to the Forth of Tay on the North Sea. To be 'north of the Tay' was to be squarely in the Highlands of Scotland.
