NORTHSIDE REEL [1], A. AKA - "North Side Reel." Canadian, Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title refers to Northside, Cape Breton; the communities at the northern end of the island. The tune was recorded by North Sydney fiddler Joe Confiant, whose Irish-flavored fiddling was influential in the Northside area, and who was a friend of fiddler Robert Stubbert and his daughter, Brenda.
