O ARANMORE, LOVED ARANMORE (O, Arainn-Mor Ionmuin). AKA and see "Killdroughalt Fair." Irish, Air (4/4 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The title for the air is from Thomas Moore's (1779-1852) Irish Melodies, although, as Paul de Grae points out, the melody is better-known nowadays as "Killdroughalt Fair." Variants are "Lough Sheeling (2)," "Old Truicha," "Thy fair bosom," finds de Grae, along with Bunting's "Bridget O'Neill," published by him in 1809. See also an older version by piper O'Farrell as "My Lodging is Uncertain."
