OLD CAMBRIDGE HORNPIPE. AKA - "Old Cambridge Reel." AKA and see "Cambridge Hornpipe (The)," "Pacific Slope (1)." American, Hornpipe or Reel (2/4 or cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was composed by blackface minstrel composer and performer George H. Coes as "Old Cambridge Reel", and printed in his Coes Album of Jigs and Reels (1876). It later appeared in Laybourn's volume as "Old Cambridge Hornpipe." The tune likely refers to Cambridge, Boston.
