OLD MAN'S DANCE [1]. American, "Slow Hornpipe." A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Kerr includes the tune in a section of American tunes ("Negro Sand Jigs Plantation Dances and Walk Arounds"), mostly minstrel era pieces and dance tunes for the variety stage. Vic Gammon suggests the tune might be associated with "Old Man Metronome" French, a banjo playing pioneer of ragtime who later switched to piano[1].
