OLD WILEY. AKA - "Old Wylie." AKA and see "Girl with the Blue Dress On (3) (The)." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, West Virginia. A modal (Am). ADae tuning (fiddle). ABAB'. Source James Franklin Doc White (1889-1974) described the reel as a "Civil War tune." White was born near Ivydale, Clay County, and lack of a medical school diploma did not stop him from tending to the medical needs of his mountain community as physician, dentist and midwife. His medical education consisted of reading every medical text he could find, and apprenticing himself to local medical practitioners.
