OLD AS THE HILLS [2]. AKA and see "Braes of Glenorchy (2)," "Hills of Glenorchy (1)," "Jolly Corkonian (The)," "Man in the Moon (3) (The)," "Over the Hills." Irish, Jig. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Martin Mulvihill gives this tune as an accompaniment for the dance The Haymakers' Jig. The tune was recorded by Donegal fiddler Neil O'Boyle (Neillidh Boyle, 1887-1961) in Dublin in 1937 as "Over the Hills"; Mulvihill's title "Old as the Hills" may simply be a miss-hearing.
