ONE-ELEVEN SPECIAL. Old-Time, Breakdown. "One Eleven Special" was Tennessee-born fiddler Curly Fox's [1] (1910-1995) cover version of James McCarroll's (of the Roane County Ramblers) "Southern 111." McCarroll was a sometime mentor of Curly's, and Fox a sometime member of the Roane County Ramblers.
