OUTDOOR RELIEF, THE. AKA and see "O'Reilly's Greyhound." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Outdoor Relief was an aspect of the Irish Poor Law system where assistance was in the form of money, food, clothing or goods, given to alleviate poverty without the requirement that the recipient enter an institution (such as a workhouse, or 'indoor relief').
