A song air played as a jig. See note for "Pat Murphy the Piper" for more. A rhythm change from 6/8 to 9/8, points out Paul de Grae, is unusual in Irish music found in one other tune, "Merry Tailor (The)" AKA "Is the Big Man Within?."
