PARISH HORNPIPE. American, Hornpipe. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Boston publisher Elias Howe printed the tune with dance directions in his section of ‘Contra Dances’ in 1000 Jigs and Reels (c. 1867). Dance instructions (but not music notation) were also printed by Howe in his American dancing master, and ball-room prompter (1866, p. 90).
