PEACE RIVER BREAKDOWN, THE. AKA - "Reel des vacances." Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Peace River Breakdown" is a popular reel composed by Ernest Couvrette. The Peace River originates in the Rocky Mountains of northern British Columbia and flows to the northeast through northern Alberta, whose waters empty ultimately into the MacKenzie River. La Famille Soucy recorded a version of the tune as "Reel des vacances" (Vacation Reel).
