The tune was first published in Aria di Camera, being a choice collection of Scotch, Irish & Welsh Airs for the Violin and German Flute "by the following masters: Mr. Alex. Urquahart of Edinburgh, Mr. Dermot O'Connar of Limrick, Mr. Hugh Edwards of Carmarthen." It was printed London for Daniel Wright in 1727.
