PERSIAN RICARDO. AKA and see "Gallopede," "Persian Dance (A)," "Yarmouth Reel." English, Country Dance Tune. The melody, best known nowadays as "Gallopede," appears under this title in the John Clare MS. (c. 1830’s). However, the tune was originally published in Preston’s 24 Country Dances for 1801.
