PETER PRATT’S POLKA. Scottish, Polka. Scotland, Orkney Islands. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by singer, fiddler and tin whistle player Peter ("Auld Peter") Pratt. Pratt was born in Toab, Mainland Orkney, in 1880, and resided there working as a farm worker. He was recorded in the field by Peter Kennedy in 1955, and there is a picture of him playing to the seals. Pratt died in 1971.
