Stepp (1875-1947), recorded in 1937 at Lakeville, Magoffin County, for the Library of Congress by Alan and Elizabeth Lomax (LC AFS 1569 A1). Jeff Titon (2001) notes the title appears in the tune lists of the 1915 Berea, Kentucky, fiddler's contest.
