Art Stamper

Source for notated version: old-time and bluegrass fiddler Art Stamper (1933-2005) [Phillips]. Stamper was born in east Kentucky (his father, Hiram Stamper, was an old-time fiddler) and lived in Louisville. He recorded and toured with a number of important bluegrass groups and musicians, including Bill Monroe, the Osbourne Brothers, the Stanley Brothers and others. Stamper is credited with bridging the gap between old-time and bluegrass fiddling, and was proficient in both genres.
