PIPER’S BRAE, THE. Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. Composed by fiddler and pianist Josephine Keegan (b. 1935), of Mullaghbawn, south County Antrim. The Piper’s Brae is the name of a hill leading out from Silverbridge towards Keegan’s home town of Mullaghbawn. She says there used to be a lone bush there, deposed by recent storms.
