PLAINS OF WATERLOO [1], THE. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody is from a Northumbrian piper’s MS of about 1816. Kidson instructs that the air not be confused with that commonly adapted to the broadside ballad of the same name (AKA "Susan's Adventures in a Man of War").
