POLKA DU SOLEIL COUCHANT (Sunset Polka). French-Canadian, Polka (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune was originally recorded by Québec fiddler Fernand Thibault. The periodical Billboard for Sept. 27, 1952, noted the records release.

Source for notated version: transplanted French-Canadian fiddler Omer Marcoux {1898-1982} (Concord, N.H.), who learned it from Fernand Thibault's recording [Miskoe & Paul].
