POOR PADDY. American, March or Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). USA; Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The melody appears in several latter 18th century North American musicians' manuscript collections, including those of Whittier Perkins (1790, Massachusetts), George White (c. 1790-1830, Cherry Valley, N.Y.), flute player John Hoff (1797-1799, Lancaster, Pa.), and flute player Thomas Molyneaux (1788, Shelburne, Nova Scotia).
