Mathewson, President of the Shetland Fiddlers Society from its formation in 1960 until his death in 1972. His enthusiasm for the Fiddlers Society was a lesson to everyone, and he seldom missed a meeting. He was Procurator Fiscal for Shetland" (Anderson). Anderson recorded the tune paired with Violet Tulloch's hornpipe "Fiddler's Soond (Da)."
