PRINCE'S FEATHER, THE. Irish, Reel. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Rossiniver, Co. Leitrim, fiddler-composer Maurice Lennon, who won the Senior All Ireland Fiddle Championship at age 17. He is the son of fiddler Ben Lennon and nephew of musician and composer Charlie Lennon. The title is generally thought to refer to the ornamental plant called the Prince's Feather (Amaranthus cruentus), or sometimes the Prince-of-Wales Feather.
