PRINCE OF WALES MARCH [4]. AKA - "Prince of Wales's March." English, March ( time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The march appeared in several London music publications simultaneously around or just before the year 1770: Charles and Samuel Thompson's Thirty Favorite Marches, Book 2, Longman Lukey & Co.'s Compleat Instructions for the Fife, and Thomas Bennett's Compleat Tutor for the Fife (c. 1767). "Prince of Wales March [4]" was entered into the 1770 music manuscript collection of musician Benjamin Cooke. In America, it was printed by George Willig in Compleat Tutor for the Fife (Philadelphia, 1805).
