PRINCE OF WALES MINUET, THE. Scottish(?), Minuet (3/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition was credited to "Gardel" in Montrose and Aberdeen dancing master and musician Archibald Duff's c. 1812 Choice Selection of Minuets, Favourite Airs, Hornpipes, Waltz's &c. The air that directly follows it, "Gavot (4)" was also composed by Paris ballet dancer, ballet master, violinist, and composer Pierre-Gabriel Gardel (1758-1840), and the two are meant to be danced as a pair.
