PRINCE OF WALES MINUET, THE. Scottish(?), Minuet (3/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition was credited to "Gardel" in Montrose and Aberdeen dancing master and musician biography:Archibald Duff's c. 1812 Choice Selection of Minuets, Favourite Airs, Hornpipes, Waltz's &c. The air that directly follows it, "Gavot (4)" was also composed by Paris ballet dancer, ballet master, violinist, and composer Pierre-Gabriel Gardel (1758-1840), and the two are meant to be danced as a pair.
