Princess Alice [1] (1843-1878) was the third child and second daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. She married Louis IV, Grand Duke of Hesse, and lived with him in Darmstadt, Grand Duchy of Hesse, where she died at age 35 of diptheria.
