PUMPKIN CREEK. American, March. (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A fife march composed c. 1954 by Sanford E. "Gus" Moeller [1] (1886–1960), who published an influential text, The Art of Snare Drumming, in 1929. Moeller was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and a sometime-member of fife and drum corps in New York and Connecticut. He played on the concert stage and in vaudeville, and also was a drum-builder as well as a teacher.
