PUT SUGAR ON IT. Old-Time. The title appears in a list of traditional Ozarks Mountains fiddle tunes compiled by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph, published in 1954 in Midwest Folklore (Summer 1954, vol. IV: pp. 81-86). Randolph noted [1] the title was risqué: it was a humorous incentive to oral erotism by either sex.
