PYRENEES WALTZ (Valse-Clog des Pyrénées). French-Canadian, Waltz. B Flat Major (Carlin): D Major (Bégin): A Major (Joyal). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABA' (Begin): AA'BB' (Carlin, Joyal). The melody was composed by Montreal accordionist-composer Alfred Montmarquette [1] (1871-1944). Sometimes known as "Valse des Pyrenees," this tune is actually a waltz-clog, with a pronounced rhythm.
