QUADRILLE MARIE-LOUISE. French-Canadian, Quadrille or Reel (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B'. Soucy researcher Jean Duval believes it likely the tune was named for Montreal fiddler Isidore Soucy's mother, Marie-Louise Proulx, who died while he was still very young. Soucy's "Reel Laferté" is a nearly identical tune[1].
