QUICK MARCH 8th REGIMENT. English, March (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The 8th Foot [1] was raised in 1665. At the time of Glasgow publisher James Aird's Selection, vol. 1 was printed in 1782, the 8th Foot was in Canada, its companies dispersed along the Great Lakes, the border with the the United States, and in the western frontier. The regiment returned to England in 1785.
