REEL DES COLONS [2]. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB, AA'B (Duval). Soucy researcher Jean Duval thinks the title may refer to the settlers of Abitibi in northwestern Quebec. A movement ot colonize this region was launched by the government of Quebec (along with the clergy, Duval notes) during the Great Depression[1].
