REEL DES NOCES D'OR (Golden Wedding Reel). AKA and see "Reel de Sorel (1)," "Reel de la mobilisation." French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'A"A"'B"B"'. The melody was recorded as "Reel des noces d'or" in 1935 by harmonica player Louis Blanchette (1905-1969), and in 1940 was again waxed as "Reel de la mobilisation" by fiddler Isidore Soucy.
