REEL DU PÈRE VERRET. French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Fiddler Pascal Gemme remarks that the tune comes from the Quebec City region and was a standard in Jules Verret’s (Lac St-Charles, Québec) repertoire (father of fiddler Jean-Marie Verret). The elder Verret was also an accomplished fly fisherman.
