RISING SUN [7]. English, Jig and Country Dance Tune (6/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was first published by dancing master Daniel Wright in his An Extraordinary Collection of Pleasant & Merry Humours (c. 1715, p. 7). It was subsequently published in London publisher John Walsh's The Third Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (1735, p. 49, and edition of 1749).
