ROBERT ABERCROMBY ESQ. M.P. Scottish, Reel (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The were at least two Robert Abercrombys who were Members of Parliament in the early 19th century, Sir Robert Abercromby, 5th Baronet, ( 1784-1855), the 5th Baronet of Birkenbog, M.P. from Banffshire from 1812 to 1818, and General Sir Robert Abercromby (1740–1827) elected M.P. for the county of Clackmannan in the place of his brother Ralph in 1798 to 1802. The reel, composed by William Morrison, probably honors the former.
