Robert Russell of Pilmuir, Leven, Fife, was a gentleman farmer, a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and is mentioned in agricultural journals of the mid-19th century. He delivered a lecture, "On Rotation of Crops," in 1864 to the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.
