The melody and country dance directions were first printed by London publisher John Young in The Second Volume of the Dancing Master, 3rd edition (1718), and reprinted in the 4th edition of 1728. It was also published by rival John Walsh his own The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (1719, reprinted by his son in 1754).
