RYRO'S HOUSE. AKA - "Rya's House," "Riro's House." Old=Time, Breakdown. USA, Piedmont region of North Carolina. "Riro's House" (sometimes "Rya's House" or "Ryro's House") is a dance tune that was in the repertoire of fiddler Joe Thompson (1918-2012), an African-American fiddler from the northeastern part of Orange County, N.C., who played the piece in FCgd tuning. Joe partnered with his banjo playing older brother, Odel (b. 1911), and were the sons of John Arch Thompson, also a banjo player.
