SAILOR'S DANCE [3]. AKA - “What shall we do with a drunken sailor?” G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody, familiar as the air to the song "What shall we do with a drunken sailor?", was entered (probably as a country dance tune) in M.E. Eames' music manuscript book, frontispiece dated Aug. 22nd, 1859 (p. 180). Eames may have been from Philadelphia, judging from some of the titles in the collection.
