SANDMOUNT, THE. AKA – “Sandymount Reel.” AKA and see "Mick Hand's Reel,” “Sandpiper (The).” Irish, Reel (cut or whole time). A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Tin whistle player Mary Bergin recorded the tune in 1979 as "Mick Hand's Reel." Recorded by the Ballinakill Céilí Band [1] (East Galway) in Dublin, 1938. The band’s founding members were Anna Rafferty, Stephen Maloney, Tommy Whelan, Tommy Whyte, and Jerry Maloney.
